The Outreach Programme for Street Children

I have started a documentary project with one of the local charities (The Outreach Programme) in Cape Town, which aims at getting street children off the streets and into a shelter with basic food supplies and education. Yesterday was my first day going around with two social workers… One thing that struck me immediately was how much they cared about their work and about helping these children, about giving them a better future. They truly believe in what they are doing… This was pretty inspiring to me…

Obviously it will take a while before people get used to my camera, and me… So this is only the very, very start…

you effortlessly take pictures of innocence, destruction and hope all at the same time.
